Junior Year
I’ve been at Lindsay High School for three years now. My time here has had its good moments and its bad times. Things have definitely changed from my freshmen year to now my junior year. Changes from meeting new people, my grades and things I have been involved in. To start off, my grades have changed tremendously. My grades have gone up and down throughout the years. Strangely, I was more comfortable my freshmen and sophomore year rather than my junior year. I hope to get my grades back up to where they were and even higher. My goal this year is to do as much level 4’s as possible and get very involved with my school activities. I have these goals for my grades to go up because I want to attend a 4 year university. Some of the schools I would love to attend are some of the top schools. If they are top schools they require a higher GPA and high SAT scores. But not all the schools I would like to attend after high school are top notch schools. My dream school I would love to go would be USC. I've always wanted to go to this school but then I realized I needed super good grades and LOTS of money. So then my three choices became San Diego State, Monterrey Bay, and Sacramento State. These are my top three colleges I would like to go to because I love the location of all of them and I've heard really great things about their systems.
I play three sports: volleyball, basketball, and softball during the whole school year. I have been playing these sports since my freshman year either on J.V. or Varsity. My freshman and sophomore year the Lindsay High School girls varsity basketball team went to the valley championship game both years and hosted two state basketball games for the first time ever and I got the privilege to be a part of that. For a good two months my teammates and I were in the newspaper quite a bit. It was the best experience of my life. The best part about it was our fans and how supportive they were. My coach always told us that we are student athletes and academics come before any sport. I find it more difficult than other students because of the sports I play and how long I play them. It really takes time from doing homework and extra stuff I need to do for school. Knowing this, I will make it my main goal to go for level 4’s and put more time into school and not so much for sports.
I am now more than half ways done with the first semester of my junior year. As I’m getting more into the year it feels like the days are going by super slow but the months are going by so fast. Starting out with this school year I didn't realize how difficult it was going to be and how much time and work was going to have to be done but going into the school year, it kind of just becomes a part of me and i then learned your free time and extra time is gone due to school work. Now that I am learning that time is precious, I am getting used to managing my time to get things done in order to meet deadlines on my projects.

Beginning Of Senior Year
The first week of senior year was fast, just as I expect the year to go. Of course, the first day of school wasn’t any different than any other school year. Know it is my senior year, it is terrifying but exciting. Terrifying because I know this is my last year of high school, but more less exciting that i am going to know where my future will take place and my new chapter in life will begin. At this time of my life, I will like to set goals and achieve as much as I can, to have them mind set of succeeding. I plan to go into college with a great mindset and personality which is another one of my personal goals, along with many others.
The classes I received this year are going to be challenging and I told myself I need to be up for the challenge. I know this challenge will definitely get me ready for the college lifestyle. Looking into the past three years I am all set for senior year and on pace to graduate. I continue to keep up my hard work and stay on track to walk and this would be my biggest goal this year. Graduating is the number one thing I look forward to the most. I love the feeling that I will know I have succeed in something huge in my life. Something that makes my family and me very proud and that's all I could ask for.
This school year I plan to set goals for everything. Whether it is an academic goal or sports goal, I will be sure to set the highest goal I can and strive to succeed it. When the time comes to finally send in all of my applications to the top for schools I would like to attend which are Sacramento State, Monterey Bay State, San Diego State, and Fresno State, will be the time I know the year has come to an end and I have achieved the goals I wanted to achieve and off to my new life. Although, before all the college possessions begin I would like to enjoy my last year of high school and being at home, in Lindsay. I expect to get academic awards and be a part of a lot of community service activities. I would love to make it to playoffs in every sport I play this year, make new memories with people who don't have many memories with, attend every Friday night football game but most importantly make this year the best year of my life.

Half Ways Done
Class of 2016 is now many weeks into school, and I believe it’s beginning to hit most of us that our childhood is almost coming to an end. It is always good to stay positive but it gets more depression the farther we get because you come to realize after June, we are on our own. Home will always be Lindsay, but most of us are moving on to bigger things, accomplishing our goals and following our dreams. The first couple of weeks wasn’t as bad but in these last few weeks of my 1st semester I have found myself telling myself, “senior year has officially hit me”. I have submitted my college applications and I had my first senior night for volleyball. It’s all going so quickly. I never listened to people when they told me high school flies by; it’s true. Although high school has the drama and after school activities, classes are still a priority of course. This year's classes seem easy, as long as you keep up with the work. On the other hand, it can be complicated because of all the college requirements you have on the side. It can also become stressful because you have class assignments and on top of that, you have to feel out things for college. This may be hard work but it will all pay off at the end. As the semester comes to an end, I will be sure to have all my classes done and I will be on pace for seven out of seven classes. Before it is over, I will also continue to keep getting good grades and strive for the highest grade I can get.
Like i’ve said before, senior year is going fast and so did the 3 years previous to this year. I’ve enjoyed my years here at high school and as much as I wouldn’t like to say this, I am really going to miss high school. So much as passed already such as Volleyball season, powderpuff football game, homecoming, the bell game, and before you know it the winter formal dance is gonna be here. Because it is my senior year, I plan to go out with a bang in everything I do. So far, I have tried to make this year memorable and I hope to make many more memories with my classmates I may never see or talk to again. Many people are excited to leave Lindsay, including me, but I would have to admit, leaving home, family, and friends is heart breaking, something else that is heart breaking would be the bills and responsibilities that's going to come with the adulthood.
Slowly but surely, I have been planning for my future. These plans have included where I’m going to attend school for the next four years of my life, who I'm gonna be around, and where I'm going to live. Even though I have a couple of more months until I officially find out where I will be attending, I have been planning what clothes to take, shoes, school supplies, etc. I think i’ve been driving my parents insane with all my planning, but I know they are just as excited for me as much as I am for myself. The good thing about my parents is that they are okay with me leaving and exploring new things. If they weren’t okay with it, I believe this would be hard for me but they want me to move on to better things and be as successful as I could be.

One Step Closer to Graduation
My last winter break for high school has also come to an end, just as everything else is coming to an end. Every year I began to cherish the moments I had with my family well I was off for the three weeks. With the time I had on my hands I started to notice how I will be gone away from home in just 6 months. The more I thought about it the more I got sad. I’ve tried to not be so negative about it, but I know it will be difficult to leave my family, especially because of how close we are. I tried to make this my best winter break ever. I had many basketball tournaments during this break but I made sure I made time for both my family and friends.
Just as my final high school winter break came to an end, my first semester is done in three weeks. People did not lie when they said senior year flies by. Although I can not complain that it will be over because that just lets me know I have accomplish yet another semester of high school. My first semester this school year has had many ups and downs. Something that I loved the most is that I had classes with good people and very helpful, understanding teachers. Nothing is better than having teachers who help you through the school year. One thing that was not good was all of the work, of course. Every year the work began more and more but I know having this much work will help me prepare for the college education.
As of now everything is looking good, school and out of school wise. At this point I am on pace in all seven of my classes and nothing is holding me back from graduating except my exit interview and of course finishing all of my classes. I have been preparing for my exit interview for the past month. My grades are the biggest part of graduating but so is my exit interview. I have been working on my powerpoint for the presentation and also got my date which will be January 26, 2016. I believe once that day comes it will finally hit me that my high school years are almost over.
Before going on winter break, I had applied to CSU Monterey Bay, Fresno State, and Sacramento State. Also before break I had received an email from Fresno State stating that I had been accepted to that school. Although Fresno State is not my first option, I was proud that I had been accepted to a college. My first option is Monterey Bay, and I have patiently waiting to get an email from that school. When I had applied to Sacramento State I had received a notice that I will not hear from them until around march. So the fact that they had notified me about that, I am assuming Monterey is going to take just as long. As bad as I don’t want it to, it's going to take that long but I know while I’m waiting I can apply for scholarships and financial aid. Not only have I been applying to scholarships but I also have been looking for housing around the areas and jobs around the area as well. It is a different feeling looking for an apartment and knowing I’m going to finally have to work.

The final Goodbye
It’s almost time. Just a couple of months away from graduating. Classes and after school activity are all coming to an end. Recently I had my senior night for basketball and tonight I have a playoff game against Orosi. Once your in play offs it’s a one and done, so if we lose tonight it is softball season and that means that school is coming to an end. Once it’s softball season the school year flies by even faster. Knowing graduation is coming up I start to feel all these different emotions. I’ve been sad, glad, mad, depressed, excited and more all because of graduation but I know that I need to make the most of everything. Every time I do something I say I'm going to go out with a bang because this is my last time doing this in high school.
Beside all the a-g requirements, the college stuff has been a main priority to me. I have been filling out scholarships, my FAFSA application, the Cal-Grant application, and also the college applications. Just a couple of months ago, i was admitted to Fresno State. This school was not my first option and just a week or two ago I got an acceptance letter from Monterey Bay; the college I wanted to get into. I am still waiting for Sacramento and I will have heard from all the colleges that I applied to. Knowing that I have been accepted to colleges is a great achievement for myself. I now understand why students should put so much time into their school work because it is a step to their future.
Although the school year is coming to an end, I still need a couple of things in order for me to graduate. These things aren’t major but they are simple. I have finished my Senior Exit Interview which is something that is required to finish. The only thing that I need left to graduate is to pass my classes. As of right now everything is looking good, grade wise. I have been 7 out of 7 all semester long and plan to keep it that way because I don’t want any speed bumps in the way of me finally finishing. Putting the grades aside, I am excited for many other things that are going to happen in the rest of my senior year. One thing I am excited about is going to be Grad Night. This is the memory most high school students have. Every story i’ve heard was that it is one fuuuuuuuuuunnnnn night! Another thing I am looking forward too is prom. These nights are nights that people always talk about and I love knowing that I will be able to tell people my stories.
It’s crazy to think that I can finally look back to my senior year already. I remember the first day like if it was yesterday. Now people are asking me what was the favorite part of your senior year or where will you be in a couple of months. Like i’ve said before I'm very grateful for everything i’ve experienced not only my senior year but as well as the other three years I was here. It has been a long ride to get to this point, with all the academics, sports, clubs, and community service activities. But the time was going to come sooner or later, graduation will be here as soon as we know it. It's crazy to thinking i'm saying my final goodbyes to everything and hello to my future that's ahead of me…
